There's an atrocious piece of software for Windows known alternately as Tencent QQ or OICQ. It's Chinese in origin, and although I really rather despise the client, which has one of the most irritating browser hijackers on install I've ever encountered, the network itself is packed with chatty Chinese people. I study Mandarin Chinese, and I've found the use of QQ incredibly helpful. So now I want to be able to use it under Linux.
I've done some googling on the matter, but 99% of the pages I found were in Chinese (I'm only studying, I'm not up to reading complicated installation instructions), and most seemed to be to do with an unofficial hack to gaim involving a libqq plugin, that I could never seem to find to download. I've tried running it under Wine, but no luck their so far.
Has anyone out there found a working method of accessing the QQ network using Linux? |

I'm bumping this because I still haven't found a treally decent solution to this, I've been using Net::OICQ, which is a perl module to do OICQ stuff, but it's command line only and find it a pain to work with.
This link http://bbs.gliet.edu.cn/bbs/index.php?showtopic=8896&st=0 has a screenshot in it showing exactly what I want, but translating computer terms is a bit beyond me... anymore help please? |
