|
|
Hello!
I have trouble to configure my gdm setup. All i want is a gdm greeter with an Field for typing your username, passwort and if you wish an option to choose your Session. Have a multiseat computer with more then 6 Users and the new gdm doesn't fit this list. And i hate it that you have to make two clicks more every time!
HERE: library.gnome.org - gdm configuration - greetersection is described how to do that. With the /etc/gdm/custom.conf
THERE: askubuntu.com - how to hide users from the login screen are figure out some other solutions.
Nothing works for me. My gdm seems to ignore all the settings so i try to remove the gdm Package and delete all the gdm-config-files that already stayed on my system. I supposed that they store some deprecated files from gdm 2.x, old skins and layouts for gdm 2.x. This did not work either.
Any suggestions? |

For something more lightweight I'd personally recommend LXDM. You can easily switch user selection on and off, choose your session, specify a valid users list, etc...
Really like it. |
