Hello,
the stick (MF190 from ZTE) finds a network
AT+COPS?
+COPS: 0,0,"Vodafone.de",0
with the operational mode set to
0,0,0 (Auto)
. When I set the operational mode to
2,0,0 (3G Only)
(with AT+ZSNT=2,0,0)
, it finds no network:
AT+COPS?
+COPS: 0
. This is strange because under Windows 7 it finds networks for both GPRS and UMTS (3G).
What could be the problem?
I'm using wvdial, same situation with NetworkManager (no UMTS).
My kernel version is
3.3.1-gentoo

Perhaps Windows and Linux have different threshold values for 3G network signal strength. Is the connection under windows good? How many bars?

| This might be the reason, the Windows software shows one bar for UMTS and five bars for GPRS. Maybe there is a command to get/set the threshold? |
