After updating many packages including Qt last weekend, KTorrent no longer works.
This is the only messages I get:
Code: |
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
KGlobal::locale::Warning your global KLocale is being recreated with a valid main component instead of a fake component, this usually means you tried to call i18n related functions before your main component was created. You should not do that since it most likely will not work

I have tried revdep-rebuild, nothing needs rebuilding. Recompiled ktorrent and libktorrent, still does the same.
Sometimes it is caught by the KDE Crash Handler, sometimes the window just stops responding. |

Downgraded to 4.1.3 (also pulled in an older libktorrent) and it does the same.
When it crashes I sometimes also get
Quote: |
*** glibc detected *** ktorrent: corrupted double-linked list: 0x000000000116e4a0 ***

Still does the same, updated system today and recompiled libktorrent and ktorrent. |

Remove (backup first) ~/.kde4/share/apps/ktorrent _________________ AMD FX6100 CPU, 16 GiB RAM, OCZ Vertex 3 SSD

Any updates on this? I'm having the exact same problem. I tried recompiling my ktorrent and libktorrent files, I tried upgrading and downgrading to different versions and still no luck.
Removing my ~/.kde4/share/apps/ktorrent directory allows ktorrent to launch, but it crashes as soon as I try to reopen one of my torrent files. |

I'm sorry to bump again (and this will be my last time).
I could really use some help here, even if it's not a solution, just some advice on debugging it. Unfortunately, I no longer have near unlimited hours to spend tinkering with my server. Any help is really appreciated. |

Confirmed. That did the trick. Thanks a lot georg298! I spent hours trying to debug with GDB and valgrind and got no where. I really can't think you enough. |
