The Google+ Hangout effects are not working with my Gentoo installation (and never have). Neither with Chromium or Firefox.
I'm using google-talkplugin-9999 and have updated it.
Not a Linux issue as it works fine on my sons computer with Ubuntu.

What do you mean by hangout "effects"?
Does the camera work on Gentoo?

The effects - like adding hats, mustaches, hair, etc. - cool stuff. Web cam works just fine.

I also found that it only works with Google-Chrome.
