I am currently experiancing problems with my fairly new system (about 2 weeks old)
Fast scrolling or window movements create static on the display, as well as playing a 3d game such as torcs creates static. I also experiance solid lock-ups when playing 3d games for more then a few minutes. The system is locked with the keyboard, mouse being totally unresponsive and I must hit the reset button.
The card is an ATI Radeon 9200 using the bianary ATI-drivers (3.2.5) and the kernel is pfeifer 2.4.22. The same behaviour occurs with all of the other kernels that I have been able to boot. I have AGP 8X disabled in my bios. I have dri working well, with about 2000 fps in glx gears.
I do not have another video card to switch out with this one to test. But otherwise my system is rock stable, I can compile for hours on end, and generally work the system hard without lockups or anything. The problem comes with graphics.
Here is what I think is the relevant hardware:
AMD XP 3000+ (the one with 400 FSB)
Asus A7N8X Delux
1 Gig corsair RAM in dual chanel mode
Radeon 9200
