|
I'm dualbooting my computer.
hde1-XP
hde2-Windows extended
hde5-boot
hde6-swap
hde7-root
LILO is my bootloader. XP loads just fine, but Gentoo loads up until it tries to mount or fsck (not sure) hde3 and hde4, which don't exist. Then I get an error and it either lets me try diagnostics or reboot. Not much good. I compiled my own kernel. I was trying to use grub before lilo, so grub is installed on the /boot partition, although it doesn't load anything. My lilo.conf is the following:
boot=/dev/hde
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
lba32
default=linux
image=/boot/bzImage
label=linux
read-only
root=/dev/hde7
other=/dev/hde1
label=xp
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

A bit of advice: you should included ext2 into your kernel as a built-in or a module. Even you don't have ext2 fs in your hdd. It might be needed when kernel booting up. |

Personally, I wouldn't have a Win extended partition either :-/ I like having a nice spiffy 1-2-3-4 |
