Good morning. As many people, I had recently some problems related to the upgrade of polkit. With version 0.106-r2 the problems related to gdm are solved, but still there are things not working. In particular, if I try to unlock gnome-control-center (to add a printer say), the system asks for the adm password (the root password does not work), so I'm not able to unlock gnome-control-center. Note that I have already added my user the adm group. What can I do? Thank's! |

I can confirm this. But adding yourself to adm cannot be the solution, right? _________________ https://plaintext.blog |

I'm also having issues since the recent polkit update on my KDE laptop.
As I mention in this bug thread https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420269 whenever I perform an action that should require superuser permission the kde polkit applet is now requesting 'admin' or my regular user's password. Not very safe IMHO.
I hope the devs get this sorted out soon. I don't like the idea that one password can expose the innermost workings of my system for exploitation. |
