i was wondering if theres a way to have the equivalent of X Fowarding in windows for linux....so basically not a big desktop thing that's replicated like most vncs, but app-specific...any suggestions?

Not possible in WIndows due to the design of the OS.

X was designed to be a networked GUI, while Windows was designed as a single PC GUI and has not similar system as the X-network protocol.

doh...

guess ill use tightvnc...but:

tightvncconnect 192.168.x.x:5900

then it goes back to console and nothing happens...heh?

id use the java applet that comes with it but opera just refuses to see the damn java plugin :\

tightvncconnect 192.168.x.x:0 is what you want, the connection number isn't port but port-5900

right...well, i got java to work in opera anyways, so ill use the applet instead :)
