Hi again.
I have been using genkernel for my bootsplash themes for a couple of years now and it's given me plain satisfaction... until recently when I bought a Core i3 with a GeForce GTS 450 and installed Gentoo from scratch. When Gentoo boots the splash screen image most of the time starts incomplete, i.e. only the bottom part is displayed, the above part is black. How much of the image is displayed also varies from boot to boot. The incomplete image is displayed as long as the message "Press Alt+F1 for verbose mode" (which is I suppose happening only while the initrd code is active) is displayed. After that the progression bar starts (e.g. Gentoo 2007 theme) and the whole image work as expected.
Does anybody have an idea what I should do to fix this issue? Not that it's annoying but I'm curious.
Thanks in advance for any hint/suggestion. _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...
