I want to connect via a modem device as normal user with kppp. I need to give pppd the option "noauth" to connect with my provider, so when I try to connect, I always get this error: "using the noauth option requires root privilege". Okay, it's clear what it say, connecting with kppp as root works fine, but I want to do as normal user! I found some hints saying to add "noauth" to /etc/ppp/options or write "noauth" into a file /etc/ppp/peers/kppp and give kppp the second option "call kppp", but this didn't work. Any hints how to fix this problem? |
