What's the procedure for adding an alternative (non x86/amd64) arch to the package keywords?
I just successfully compiled portmidi on an armv7 (Beaglebone) by adding the arm keyword manually.
Can I just add a bug requesting the keyword or is some more testing required? If so, what tests? |

| I would create a bug for this in the gentoo bugzilla. I think the arm arch team would need to do testing themselves before the keyword is added... but that would probably just require them ensuring the package compiles and works correctly. |

Just open a bug and request the keyword be added. In the bug form add KEYWORDREQ to the "Keywords" field. Also mention that you successfully compiled the package and it works as expected.
Thanks for your contributions! And if you are interested in this kind of thing, consider becoming an Arch Tester. It's also helpful to hang out in the IRC channel of your chosen arch (in this case #gentoo-arm) and work more closely together with the devs. They can use all the help they can get!

| Compiling is not enough, you must test it and consider whether your really need it, i.e, not request stuff only because it works |
