Whenever I open up mozilla or any other internet application I cannot connect to the web or any other service. My eht0 comes up okay during boot. The strange thing is all I have to do to get everything working again is log into my router. I don't have to change any settings, just log in. Then I can go to gentoo.org or whatever. Anyone heard of this before?

There are definitely too many kinds of routers out there to give you any answer without knowing what kind of router you use, so maybe you should be a little more specific about your hardware...

Usually that helps... I have a Linksys wireless access point router model number BEFW11S4. I have dhcp configured for my two pc's. The one I am on is connected via ethernet cable. The other computer connect via wireless nic works fine.

This was actually a very minor problem with an obvious solution. After realizing one of my recently installed apps had update /etc/conf.d/net I easily changed my my net settings to use dhcp.
