Im trying, and almost successful, to convert a virtual machine image of gentoo into an actual system. I've copied all the partitions, transfered them to the drive. loaded the system worked. recompiled the kernal to include drivers for nic and video drivers did that and installed it.... in faq im guided to recompile xorg-server and mesa , however when i try to Code: | sudo emerge -1av x11-base/xorg-server | i get an error saying No ebuilds to satisfy "virtual/pkgconfig"
any ideas? >< this is really frustrating.. im trying to install the drivers for an ati rage 128.
im thinking it has somethin to do with virtualization included in the kernal config? if anybody knows which, please guide me to which ones i need to disable. |

newgentoouser88,
You should have that ebuild. Look in /usr/portage/virtual/pkgconfig
If its missing, try emerge --sync _________________ Regards,
