using the minimal installation cd, i somehow ended up with two: one on / and one in /mnt/gentoo
this is without chrooting. should i just rm -rf /mnt/gentoo and chroot into the new / ? i mean, portage is there and everything. maybe it happened when i was in a chrooted environment? i don't believe i got as far as the bootloader, so, either way, the /mnt/gentoo will disappear because LILO will point to the appropriate boot image, correct?

actually, no not correct because the chrooted environment is the / so... i don't remember getting that far into the install. is the / that the live dvd shows the live dvd /? it's not on the hd, actually shouldn't be. i think because the live dvd drops you into /root then i think somewhere along the line i cd .. 'd. i think...
yes that's exactly what it is LOL
