|
|
so far ive emerged postgresql then a
ebuild /var/db/pkg/dev-db/postgresql-7.2-r2/postgresql-7.2-r2.ebuild config.
followed by a the /etc/init.d/postgres start
which seems to have set up ok
i then used webmin to add a database's tables users etc and webmin confirms postgresql is started
my problem is i cannot seem to use tools like pgaccess and pgsqlmanager to connect to a host i use the default 5432 port and have tried localhost 127.0.0.1 and the machine name could someone please tell me the default host name or whatever im doing wrong
ps could someone recomend a frontend i can program, i used to do some pretty complicated stuff with access forms before needing a proper database preferably something with with wizards so i can see get it up and running before delving into the code
thanks for your help |
