VMWare is the company. Are we talking Player, Workstation, ...?
In case of Workstation, which I'm using myself, just install it as everything else Code: | emerge -atv vmware-workstation |
If you always want the latest version available via portage, you can add the vmware-ovrelay Code: | layman -S ; layman -a vmware |
After that, just read the output of the emerge command and follow its instructions, which usually is Code: | emerge --config app-emulation/vmware-workstation | Then start the service Code: | /etc/init.d/vmware start |
Start the application itself, enter your serial (and register if you want to) and off you go. _________________ ++++++++++[>+++++++>++++++++++>+++>+<<<<-]>++.>+.+++++++..+++.>++.<<+++++++++++++++.>.+++.------.--------.>+.>. |

Are you set on using VMware specifically? There are free virtualization products, such as KVM, which may (or may not) meet your needs. If you do not already have a VMware license, you might find one of the free products desirable. |
