I can never remember all the names to the XFCE tools, things like volume, network, themes, monitor stuff, any of the things that come with XFCE. Is there a way I can add them to the awesome wm so I can see them in that menu that shows up when I press Mod4+W?
Or is there a big XFCE control panel I can use to get to all of the apps? |

Do you know how to manually modify the awesome menu? Should be in ~/.config/awesome... and something "rc". I was using awesome until recently, so I don't remember the exact file, but it should be easy to figure out.
If ~/.config/awesome/rc.lua (I think that's the filename) doesn't exist, you might want to copy it from somewhere in /etc or /usr. You can use the find command, or even easier, use mlocate (if you don't have that, emerge mlocate, then do updatedb as root). You can just do locate awesome, look for the default config location and copy it to your local home dir under .config.
If you don't have eix, install it:
Then do eix-update, and then you can eix (keyword). So you'll want to do eix xfce, and a whole list of xfce stuff will come up. This is a lot faster than emerge --search. _________________ decibel Linux: https://decibellinux.org
