I can't get the built-in card reader to work. I've enabled everything that might be relevant in the kernel, and yet nothing like /dev/sdb1 or /dev/mmc appears when I insert a card, and lspci doesn't show anything either.
Kernel .config excerpt:
Code: |
# MMC/SD/SDIO Card Drivers
#
CONFIG_MMC_BLOCK=y
CONFIG_MMC_BLOCK_MINORS=8
CONFIG_MMC_BLOCK_BOUNCE=y
# CONFIG_SDIO_UART is not set
# CONFIG_MMC_TEST is not set
#
# MMC/SD/SDIO Host Controller Drivers
#
CONFIG_MMC_SDHCI=m
CONFIG_MMC_SDHCI_PCI=m
CONFIG_MMC_RICOH_MMC=y
CONFIG_MMC_SDHCI_PLTFM=m
CONFIG_MMC_WBSD=m
CONFIG_MMC_TIFM_SD=m
CONFIG_MMC_SDRICOH_CS=m
CONFIG_MMC_CB710=m
CONFIG_MMC_VIA_SDMMC=m
CONFIG_MMC_VUB300=m
CONFIG_MMC_USHC=m

I can still use sd cards with a usb adaptor, but it is puzzling. What am I doing wrong?

coffeecat,
Maybe is a USB card reader as it doesn't show up on lspci.
What does lsusb show?
Its in usbutils if you don't have it
It could also be disabled in the BIOS - that often prevents PCI devices showing in lspci _________________ Regards,

That was it. It has a Realtek usb reader, and I needed to enable Device drivers>USB support>Realtek card reader in the kernel. Thanks! |
