Help! I can't seem to make 1.1_rc4 work (ok, I know it's beta. . .)
Here's the problem. I emerged fine, but when I go to run, I get the following:
Code: | slife@foo slife $ ooffice
Gnome session manager detected - session management disabled
running openoffice.org setup...
setup failed.. abort
slife@foo slife $
|
I've traced this to a missing setup.bin file in /opt/OpenOffice.org1.1_rc4/program
ooffice calls /opt/OpenOffice.org1.1_rc4/program/setup which attempts to execute setup.bin
Is this user error on my part, or is there a problem with the ebuild (like a missing setup.bin)?
Thanks

I had the same problem. It starts the first time, but not afterwards. I forgot what I did, I think I had to delete the ~/.openoffice directory so that it would rebuild it as if it is a first installation. That only worked once of course and after closing it, I would have to delete the .openoffice directory again. rc2 works fine though. |

I tried rc2, and had the same problem. I don't know if the binary file just isn't set up correctly, or if I did something wrong at my end. However the release works (if I delete the binary that came off of the install CD's) so I can work. . .and wait for 1.1 to go final.

Have bumbed into the same problem with openoffice 1.0.2 of the emerge not creating the openoffice-1.0.2/program directory nor any of its contents. I take it noone has found out what the problem is.
