Hello there,
I tried to install Gentoo Linux for Sparc 4bit on one of our board which is based around the 550MHZ ultraSparc2e CPU.
We have an immediate problem during the install out of the Gentoo CDROM, which is that after the CDROM is booted
from OBP (boot cdrom).
I got error message "Console tty0 enabled boot console disable".
It looks like the SCSI controller (SYMBIOS) is not seen by Linux. I need to mention that on that board, we have two
PCI-PCI bridges (pci@1 and pci@2) right underneath the ultraSparc2e PCI interface. pci@1 is an ABP PCI-PCI bridge and pci@2 is an Intel 21154
PCI-PCI. The SCSI controller is behind the Intel bridge.
Any idea? Please help.

If PCI devices behind bridges are not seen, try booting with pci=assign-busses or pci=routeirq kernel parameter.
If it still doesn't work, /usr/src/linux/Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt has some more parameters to try. |

When I tried Gentoo Sparc Univeral (2007) with your options and other (bioirq), I got error : calling free_all_bootmem() and it was hang after that.
Any idea?
