Gentoo Linux 1.4 is installed on my machine. All has worked fine until yesterday but some X11 applications are unable to be executed since yesterday. Detailed error message is as below:

Gdk-ERROR ** : BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
serial 49 error_code 2 request_code 45 minor_code 0

With this error message, associated X11 application halted execution.

I've unmerged gdk_pixbuf, gtk+-1.2.10-r10, gtk+-2.2.1 and remerged them. Error is still remained to occur. If you were me, what did you in order to solve this problem? Any idea?

Maybe this thread can help you out? Mozilla/Galeon won't run with Xfree-4.3.0-r2 - FIXED They seem to have fixed a similar issue. Good luck.
