Hi

Further to my posts regarding problem with grub loading the kernel, I went through all the conf docs and still could not see anything.

So I decided to recompile the kernel.
First time I had chosen to compile the kernel manually.
This time I chose the genkernel.

And now it loads. I must have made a 'boo boo' somewhere in the manual compile.

I am still keeping grub in floppy and load it from floppy, just in case.

However, I get some errors and failed responses during the boot up.

At the moment, I am happy that it boots up. Next I have to find out what the failures are for.

Is there a log for them?

I can finally go to bed now.

'dmesg' gives you a log of what happens at boottime.
