|
|
Hi all,
I try to install Gentoo Minimal Installation "install-x86-minimal-<20121213>.iso" in Virtual Box version 4.2.4 with virtual memory 1GB,virtual hard disk 60GB.
I was in the step where i tried to setup my disk. I used the fdisk command and i followed all the instructions but when i typed "w" for save all the changes in my hard disk i got the below alert.
Code: |
The partition table has been altered!
Calling ioctl() to re-read partition table.
Syncing disks
|
I did the same process, (setup disk), two times, for be completely sure with the output, but also i got the same result.
I searched in the forum and i found this post http://forums-lb.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-143073-start-0.html
but does not looks like to be the same with mine. We have same only the first line from the output.
Can anyone knows why i got this message. I appreciate any idea for my own solution.
Thanks!

aia,
Those messages are for information only - there is no error.
Sometimes you get the error ... kernel still uses the old partition table!
Which forces a reboot.
Everything is OK for you - continue with your install. _________________ Regards,
