Can someone explain to me how to downgrade xfree86 to 4.2?

The currnet 3d drivers I am using are not compatible with 4.3 (which I JUST found out after upgrading).

Thanks tons.

Code:
emerge /usr/portage/x11-base/xfree/xfree-4.2.0-r12.ebuild

should do the trick for downgrading.

If you would like to keep it from being updated in emerge -u world, you can perm mask it for now. To do so, make a file in /etc/portage/ (You will probally need to create the directory.)called package.mask, and stick the following in it.
Code:
<x11-base/xfree-4.2.0-r12

Hope that helps. :)

Shigure, I tried that last night and ended up with a problem. Though x would start, kdm would not. Evidently something I upgraded dealing with kde is dependant on 4.3?
