when i press shift+scroll-lock then numlock is switched on under textconsole.

how can i enable numlock then?

i can confirm that the bug exists... it works in the console but not in x. i forget the command that you can check what keycode is generated in x. it could be just a mapping issue.
i have never used numlock for anything useful though... in the latest XFree you can use xrandr to change resolutions, and gnome2.4 has a gui resolution switcher included ( i think kde 3.2 cvs has one too ). |

xev is the program for logging events. anyway, you are right, numlock is for nothing.
and in the case i need it, i twiddle with fn, shift and numlock and somehow it works this way to set/unset it. |
