I have neither /dev/cdrom nor /dev/dvd. The only way I can access optical media is with /dev/sr0.
I think the problem was created when I installed LXC and created some guests. My device files must have been wiped by the lxc-create or lxc-destroy script.
My udev config file looks the same as yours. |

Split from no /dev/dvd, but /dev/cdrom exists as this appears to be an unrelated issue.
