How to increase PC's processing speed ?

i am using intel core-2-duo processor please suggest me trick to increase speed of my desktop.

Welcome to Gentoo.

First, you need to establish where your performance bottlenecks are.
Then you can determine if what your need is a real speed improvement or just for the system to be more responsive.
Gains in responsiveness usually come at the cost of throughput - so performance goes down.

Responsiveness can sometimes be improved in software, throughput improvements will mean new parts.

So, what do you want and what do you have now ?
