When I try to run any program using wine it gives me this error message
Code:
Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive A:
Invalid path 'c:\windows' for windows directory: does not exist
Perhaps you have not properly edited or created your Wine configuration file.
This is (supposed to be) '/home/fuzz/.wine/config'

I have 2hd hd1=windows 2000 hd2=gentoo what do I have to do to get wine or winex to work

Edit the file "/home/fuzz/.wine/config"... and in there, find where your fake C drive is. Wine uses a fake C drive to store all of it's stuff... it works just like a drive when you're in Wine, but it's actually a folder on your linux partition.

I wouldn't recommend using Wine to run off of your Windows 2000 partition- especially if it's NTFS, which is read-only in Linux. If it's fat32 (vfat) then it's feasible, but I wouldn't.

Wine is mostly made to emulate Win9x, afaik... it would have trouble emulating Win2k/XP on top of a real installation.

To use Wine, find your Wine folder by looking at the C drive in the config file, and have a look in that folder. If you don't have permission to write in it, then as root, run "chown -R fuzz folder"...

Then run "mkdir windows" inside that folder to make a windows folder, which is why Wine is complaining in the first place (it doesn't have one). Feel free to complain here if you have more problems. :)
