Kernel 2.6 (development-sources) and memory problems

Hi!

I'd like to try kernel 2.6 because gaming-sources doesn't support AGPx8 (I have VIA KT400 chipset) and without this I can't have my Radeon 9700 working properly.

So I emerged development-sources and kompiled it using some options that I've read that I should use.

But after booting into this new kernel I have some errors about HighMem

Amon others:

HighMem per_cpu: empty
HighMem: empty

Kernel panic: Out of memory and no killable processes

I've tried to compile kernel with and without HighMem option but it seems to have no effects on these errors. I've searched the forum but with no results
Any ideas?

I solved it -- emerged 2.6 test 7 kernel and everything went ok.

But I have another problem: when I run terminal under Gnome it has no cursor and when I close it's window Gnome is shuting down

I've managed to have my Radeon 9700 working!!!!

These are my results from glxgears in window:
5985 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1197.000 FPS
5677 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1135.400 FPS
5295 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1059.000 FPS
5672 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1134.400 FPS
6062 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1212.400 FPS
5755 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1151.000 FPS
5815 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1163.000 FPS

I don;t know if they're good but I don't care cause I'm step closer to quit Windows and migrate to Gentoo
