Hi,

Just finished my gentoo installatiod on an asrock e350m1, intel ssd 330 60g. To do so I booted a sysrescuecd from usb stick.

It worked like a charm until I tried to boot on my freshly installed gentoo: the kernel gets loaded, decompressed and everything hangs at the very early message "Booting the kernel."
I quad-checked my kernel config, did not see anything weird their. Still always got this behavior.

So I decided to try the sysrescuecd kernel for booting my gentoo, since it boots perfectly with it on usb stick: exact same thing, it hangs exactly the same way.

What am I missing here?
The BIOS is UEFI based, but I could not see anything to disable/enable something related to it, besides the "secure boot" which is disabled (as well as the ultra fast boot or fast boot stuff too).

Any clue?

Thanks

Ok seems I am completely outdated about these new hw supporting UEFI.

I used old grub 0.97. Will switch over a uefi-capable bootloader
