I have gentoo 1.4 with the gaming kernel, and cdrtools 2.01 alpha18-r1 with +dvdr. cdrdao version 1.1.7. My cdrom is a Plextor PX-504A.

I can burn data cdrs and dvdrs with k3b without problems, but when I try to do a cd copy things start to screw up.

If I issue a command such as:
Code:

cdrdao copy --device 0,0,0 --buffers 64 --driver plextor toc-file.toc

cdrdao seems to work and does its track analyzing (Track one...found ISRC code. Track two...found ISRC code etc. etc.) but then when it gets to actually copying the data:
Code:

cdrdao: Input/output error.  : scsi sendcmd: no error
CDB:  D8 00 00 00 0D CB 00 00 00 1A 00 00
status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION)
Sense Bytes: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 20 00 00 00
Sense Key: 0x5 Illegal Request, Segment 0
Sense Code: 0x20 Qual 0x00 (invalid command operation code) Fru 0x0
Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid)
cmd finished after 0.000s timeout 20s
ERROR: Reading of audio data failed at sector 3531.

These errors just stream by every few sectors until I ctrl-c it.

I have tried the generic-mmc driver, generic-mmc-raw, plextor, and plextor-scan. Plextor is the only one that will even get through the initial disc analyzing. And I have tried different audio cds :-p.

I have the scsi cdrom manufacturer specific extentions on in the kernel, it doesn't seem to help.

I have searched about the forums and the web and cannot figure out a solution. Any ideas as to what may be causing this?

Thank you.
