Hi,
I checked an executable on the system. MCVIEW states "mipsel" so i downloaded all stage3 from the ftp...
stage3-mipsel4_multilib-20121028.tar.bz2 cannot be unpacked. I downloaded it twice to double check
Code: |
bzip2: Data integrity error when decompressing.
Input file = (stdin), output file = (stdout)
It is possible that the compressed file(s) have become corrupted.
You can use the -tvv option to test integrity of such files.

with the others I get following errors when I try to chroot into the stage
Code: | stage3-mipsel1-20121028.tar.bz2 Illegal instruction
stage3-mipsel3_multilib-20121028.tar.bz2 chroot: can't execute '/bin/bash': Exec format error

The box is a fritzbox 3170 and its running freetz at the moment, but I want to get gentoo working on the box, as all my linux boxes have gentoo |

The MIPS 3 and 4 stages are really for SGI desktop machines.
Your router almost certainly has a MIPS32 CPU in it. Looks like we don't have mips32el stages yet. stage3-mipsel1-20121028.tar.bz2 should work for you. _________________ My Wiki page |
