I'm looking for a way to present a single file heirachy for the people on my network to "READ"
fir instance
networkshare
-/mov
-/pics
-/games
-/shareware
etc..
but i want to mount multiple folders into one.
/share/movies/ + /scsi/movies/ + /mnt/cdr/movies = /networkshare/movies
I know this is a nightmare for "WRITE" access, but i just want "READ" access for the network.
Also, this would extend into -
/home/usernameA/movies + /home/usernameB/movies = /networkshare/movies
so that users can put movies in their home directories and they will be available to all network users.
any ideas?? |

I would also like to have this available on kernel 2.6, but 2.4 is OK.
It also should be exportable via samba. I can get around it if it's not, but its not simple, and not clean. |

Now, correct me if I'm rong, but isn't that basically an union-filesystem? Linux does not support it, Plan9 does and maybe some of the *BSD's. _________________ My tech-blog | My other blog |
