When I boot, my zip drive is seen as /dev/hdb, but when I access it after boot, dev/hdb is not there. I have compiled SCSI support into the kernel. This is a dual boot with XP, which sees it fine. Any thoughts?

What does "When I boot" mean? Does the kernel detect the zip drive correctly? When is "after boot"? Is your zip drive attached to the SCSI bus? Please be more specific.

As the OS is booting, my IDE zip drive is correctly recognized as /dev/hdb. After logging in, /dev/hdb does not exist. It is not attached to the SCSI bus.
