2.6.0-test7-bk3 only gives 40x25 console...

I have a Radeon (9200), KT400, AMD 2.5 etc setup, and just got OpenGL etc running great, but the kernel (2.6.0-test7-bk3) configuration via menuconfig does not have a [ ] next to VGA Console. Instead it has ---

Why?

I am going about getting a framebuffer console the wrong way. I have enabled both the VESA fb device and the Radeon fb device, and one at a time, and still I had no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't stand 40x25...
