Another heads up. One of the extensions completely fscks up the browser with some xml error. I am on the fourth reinstall as I type. I don't know which one yet. Make sure you "emerge -b mozilla-firebird" so you can save yourself a lot of recompilation. |

Is Thunderbird as long a compile as Firebird? _________________ Tactless

Whats wrong with these ones?
Firebird is compiled and running 100% here and Thunderbird would be too if I had of listened to advice... _________________ <!-- Insert funny comment here-->

inherit flag-o-matic
filter-flags "-fomit-frame-pointer"
and the problem is solved once and for all, the ebuild now automatically strips that evil flag. |

But I've already removed "-fomit-frame-pointer" from my make.conf... Shouldn't that be enough?
On a side note, I didn't really understand your last post... must I add filter-flags "-fomit-frame-pointer" to my thunderbird ebuild? _________________ <!-- Insert funny comment here-->

Well, Mozilla was originally derived from netscape and netscape has actually been using the mozilla source mostly iirc.
Firebird is a newish thing built on the same renderer, but a different interface which is cut down. and it's masked
Thunderbird is a mail client to match firebird. _________________ I am SPAM, hear me roar.

inherit flag-o-matic
filter-flags "-fomit-frame-pointer"
gets rid of the flag without you having to edit make.conf - it's the senible thing to do if a flag is causing problems. |

Still doesn't solve the problem tho... rebuilding again without the crypto settings... _________________ <!-- Insert funny comment here-->

Hmm, does anyone else run into this when building? I'm using an ebuild based on 1.4-r4, I just updated the SRC_URI (/pub/mozilla --> /pub/mozilla.org/mozilla). I tried commenting out some of the things that the other 1.5 ebuild posted earlier did, doesn't seem to affect this section though...
Error happened on line with ">>":
Code: | # Disable jobserver here ...
make MAKE="make" moz_import || die
>> make MAKE="make" || die
cd ${S}

Make output:
Code: | make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/mozilla-1.5/work/mozilla/modules/zlib/standalone'

Here's my setup:
Code: | U I [ Found these USE variables in : net-www/mozilla-1.5 ]
+ + java : Adds support for Java
+ + crypt : Add support for encryption -- using mcrypt or gpg where applicable
+ + ipv6 : Adds support for IP version 6
+ + gtk2 : Use gtk+-2.0.0 over gtk+-1.2 in cases where a program supports both. Beware that gtk+-2 support can be bad.
+ - ssl : Adds support for Secure Socket Layer connections
+ + ldap : Adds LDAP support (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)
+ + gnome : Adds GNOME support
- - debug : Tells configure and the makefiles to build for debugging. Effects vary acrosss packages, but generally it will at least add -g to CFLAGS. Remember to set FEATURES+=nostrip too.
+ + mozsvg : blank
- - mozcalendar : blank

- - moznocompose : If you do NOT want the web page composer built with mozilla
- - moznoxft : blank

Everytime i build Firebird instead of using mozilla-firebird-bin I get gigantic ugly fonts. How can I make them look like the fonts in mozilla-firebird-bin?
USE="-3dfx 3dnow -acpi alsa apache2 apm -arts -bonobo cdr crypt dga directfb -do
c dvd -emacs encode -esd fbcon -firebird -flash -foomaticdb gd -gnome gpm -gps -
gtk gtk2 -imap -ipv6 jack jikes -joystick junit -kde -kerberos ladcca ldap -leim
-lirc mad maildir -matrox -mbox -mcal mmx -mule mysql ncurses nocardbus opengl
-oss pam -pcmcia -pda -pnp -postgres -samba -scanner sdl -snmp sse ssl svga tcpd
truetype usb -voodoo3 X xinerama xmms xv"
Also, what's with the weird binary placement. /usr/lib/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird |

Fizz: I've uploaded my hacked ebuild of thunderbird-0.3 to http://www.tendoweb.com/mozilla-thunderbird-0.3.ebuild in case you migth want to try again. It worked for me.
I would suggest deleting everything in your /usr/local/portage/net-mail/mozilla-thunderbird directory and doing "ebuild mozilla-thunderbird-0.3.ebuild digest" again too.
Good luck! _________________ <!-- Insert funny comment here-->

I have emerged it, but I don't know what command will run it.
I have tried MozillaFirebird, and nothing happens!! _________________ [LRU] |

The file is located in /usr/lib/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird
Just do the following :-
Code: |
ln -s /usr/lib/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird /usr/bin/MozillaFirebird
|
And everything should work 100% _________________ <!-- Insert funny comment here-->

Still seems to be a problem with it.
If I go to: http://www.reuters.co.uk
it simply crashes and the browser disappears. _________________ [LRU] |
