Hey, i have PPPoE, and if i am in gnome, i set it up, and type adsl-start, and it says it connects. But if i type emerge whatever, it wont find any hosts. ifconfig tells me that it is connected and that it has an IP and everything.
When i was setting up gentoo, i could connect and download. Butnow that i have a GUI , it seems to not let me emerge stuff. Do i need to be in a command line only for this?
I am jsut startign with gentoo, so if answers could be explained a little, that would be awesome, thanks

If your have went though everything and are sure that you're connected to the internet, then I would check into possibly your /etc/resolv.conf file not having a correct/valid nameserver setting in it.

Thanks
Jon
