I've sorta had it up the the proverbial here trying to configure my Rage Mobility to work with DRI....
I'm going to take a break before trying to trouble shoot somemore... As it stands I GLXINFO consistently returns this value
Code: | name of display: :0.0
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: No
server glx vendor strin |
and GLXGEARS works seemingly in software mode giving this response....
Code: | Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".

Here are links to my current XF86Config and my current X log

My X log

Does anything here stand out to anyone? Can anyone drop suggestions on where to go next? So far i've made sure to have my chipset compiled into my kernel, AGPgarts a modules, I don't have the kernel DRI installed but the ones emerged from Xfree-DRM
If anybody can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance..

I have an Inspiron 4000 with a Rage Mobility 8MB card in it. I have gotten it to do the hardware accel stuff in RedHat before using just the kernel DRI as modules. I bet your Rage card is a Rage128, having 8MB RAM. |

actually my card chipset is based on the mach64 chip.
I got it working... Funny I spent a week trying to make the rage128 driver work in a mach64 chipset. Pretty sad. Once I figured out that it wasn't the rage 128 driver I needed I was able to get the mach64 chipset (which is in fairly stable beta last I checked) working
Thanks for your suggestion though.. |
