As many of you knows, there is a long-time bug with font rendering in Gimp 2.8
You can see it here:
http://www.infinality.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=229
or here:
http://www.gimpusers.com/forums/gimp-user/14407-bug-with-fonts-when-antialiasing-on

Probably is related to anti-aliasing in KDE (on LCD monitors), so one of the solution is to switch off anti-aliasing in KDE, but the KDE looks ugly. One of the solution from Arch is to make some chaneges in 50-base-rendering-inf file, but I cannot find this one in Gentoo? Is it there a differnet name for this file in Gentoo?
Quote: | I had the same problem, and my solution was to change the subpixel rendering to v-rgb in 50-base-rendering-inf , and problem solved. But the looking was ugly, not totally ugly, but not like the original configuration and the fonts do not render well, so removing the section
<edit name="rgba" mode="assign">
<const>rgb</const>
</edit>
In the same 50-base-rendering-file, was a good solution for me.
