i need help setting up a network. The problem is I'm trying to setup up a server and a seperate wireless network that is connected into my 2nd NIC card. The first NIC is connected to the cable modem.
I want the main server to have the dynamix IP from ISP and the second nic to operate as the gateway. The second NIC will bridge and share the connection of the first NIC and the router will basically offer NAT to the rest of the clients (my xbox, powerbook G4, and several other clients.)
CAn someone please guide me as to what to setup in linux. How can I bridge the connections. What settings should I put for the router. I tried to sett it up where I can have the second NIC configured to static IP: 192.168.0.1. I tried to input in into the belkin router, but it wouldn't register anything. What should I list as the DNS? The router is insisting on one.
I'm new to this. Please help, thanks. |
