Sorry if this is a n00b question I am currently using DSL, and when I view the network activity display in gkrellm2, I usually see data coming in at around 6-8K a second, even when I am not using the internet. Is this normal, or do I have to go hunting around for some potential problems ? _________________ Three minutes of thought would suffice to find this out. Are you directly connected to your DSL line? You could run a sniffer like tcpdump or ethereal to find out what the traffic is. |

Thanks devon, I use dtcpdump and it turned out that the network activity was caused by my machine communicating with my ISP, so I guess there is no problem. _________________ Three minutes of thought would suffice to find this out.
