Hello,

I have wanted to use all of the Horde suite for some time, especially since IMP (definitely the killer app) is so nice and well-featured. However, IMAP support in my PHP installation is clearly not working. I have no real idea why it isn't, so here's a little description of my installation and problem.

I use Apache 2.0.47 and PHP 4.3.3, both compiled manually (I still haven't tried to figure out how to use Portage and still get my custom Apache and PHP builds). I am using the net-libs/c-client ebuild for IMAP support within PHP.

Horde/IMP seems to be properly configured to run on my server. I can seemingly log into my IMAP account, but the message listing announces four messages when there are dozens and won't even let me see the four it mentions. I know that the email server in question plays nice with Horde/IMP since I have checked mail on it from a functional Horde installation. A little webmail PHP thingie that a colleague made and that works on his server also fails similarly on mine, so some deficiency/misconfiguration in my Horde package seems like a less likely culprit.

Throughout all of this, phpinfo() announces that IMAP support is compiled in ("IMAP c-Client version 2000" with SSL enabled...).

What could be going wrong here? Do you need any additional info?

Thanks,

Peter

OK, I'm not sure exactly what was holding up the build.

I tried again with a different strategy and it worked.
