|
|
I could not find a gentoo build for the Savage Demo but I did find a linux demo but its in .sh compression. I'm very new to this and I know what do do with tarz and what not but what kind of format is this? How do I install it? I can't find anything on the web about this form of compression or even in gentoo FAQs. I'm sure its something I should know and I feel dumb asking but I have no choice. Thank you for your help...

I tried to emerge it but it says:
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "savagedemo".
!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.
I figured that means it may be on the list on gentoo.org but not actually in the system yet. |

That means you need to sync, it's probably still marked testing on your computer.
Code: | $ grep ^KEYW /usr/portage/games-fps/savagedemo/savagedemo-0.ebuild
KEYWORDS="-* x86" |

Hrmmmm... I did a sync but I didn't think that would effect it. Perhaps I didn't understand what you ment. I typed "sync" to sync it in console and then tried to emerge again with no luck. |
