Ok, when trying to run an app that was written to use the DGA capabilities of X, i get the message | Code: | | error while loading shared libraries: libXxf86dga.so.1: cannot open shared object files: No such file or directory |
It appears that the DGA extention was not even compiled when portage compiled X .
I dorked around with the system a lil'. I updated /etc/X11/XF86Config to load the DGA extensions. That didnt work. I edited /etc/make.conf to USE DGA, and re-emerged X. That didnt work either.
From what i am seeing that file 'libXxf86dga.so.1' is still not present, even after a recompile with the USE DGA in the make.conf.
Anyone else having this problem?

A Search for libXxf86dga.so turned up this thread.

in my /usr/X11R6/lib directory i do not have libXxfdga.so.1 but I do have libXxfdga.a ...
maybe that will be of some assistance.

sorry people.. I'm lame.. i never tried to compile the source myself cause i could never find the darn thing on SNES9Xs website.. well after being pointed to the right location i compiled it against my libraries and everything works fine, even openGL.. rock!
