I finally got my diskless systems to boot and they are working well, but I can't properly shutdown or restart because things get hung up on dhcpcd. I suspect it's deactivating the network card and then NFS stalls.
I have config_eth0="noop" in /etc/conf.d/net but I've run out of ideas on how to solve this last problem. Any suggestions would be great.
Edit: A solution that worked well for me was to unmerge dhcpcd (emerge -C dhcpcd) and to set a static IP in /etc/conf.d/net. Now my diskless systems shutdown and reboot without hanging. |
