I have some gpu overheating issues at boot time.
At startup, file system checking take quite a long time and my GPU overheat before completion and reboot the computer.
This make impossible to use some live cds as well.
I would like to turn on the fan at 100% before fsck and put it back on auto after X started but nvdia-settings require a Xserver.
Nvclock doesnt support my GPU.
Would it be possible to start a dummy X server before fsck and close it right after?
I'am using systemd. |

This would probably be better on Nvidia's forum.
Sounds like a hardware problem to me.
Is this a laptop in a hot climate? Buy a laptop cooler, i.e. fans that sit under the laptop.
Also, undervolt the CPU - this will help generally with heat, especially in a laptop where the CPU and GPU probably share the same heatpipe. |
