I am quite fond of the default color scheme used in the Gentoo console and want to use it in my rxvt-unicode. I know that Gentoo's default bash prompt makes good use of the colors,
Code:
$ echo $PS1
\[\033[01;32m\]\u@\h\[\033[01;34m\] \w \$\[\033[00m\]
Since the ANSI escape sequence only specifies color names, not RGB values, I don't know the exact RGB values associated with the color names. Does Gentoo have its own color standard or use the standard VGA colors or something else?

Look at /etc/bash/bashrc. And also here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Color_Bash_Prompt

I'm sorry that I didn't express myself clearly. I do know the meaning of PS1, for example, 01;32 stands for bright green, but what's the corresponding RGB value of this bright green? Since different color standards and applications have their own choices, for example, bright green in xterm is obviously different from the one defined in standard VGA color, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANSI_escape_code#Colors.

I guess the Gentoo console uses the standard VGA colos because I have same colors in rxvt-unicode with the console if I have these lines in my .Xresources file,
Code:
URxvt.background: #000000
URxvt.foreground: #FFFFFF

!black
URxvt.color0: #000000
URxvt.color8: #555555
!red
URxvt.color1: #AA0000
URxvt.color9: #FF5555
!green
URxvt.color2: #00AA00
URxvt.color10: #55FF55
!yellow
URxvt.color3: #AA5500
URxvt.color11: #FFFF55
!blue
URxvt.color4: #0000AA
URxvt.color12: #5555FF
!magenta
URxvt.color5: #AA00AA
URxvt.color13: #FF55FF
!cyan
URxvt.color6: #00AAAA
URxvt.color14: #55FFFF
!white
URxvt.color7: #AAAAAA
URxvt.color15: #FFFFFF

In X, the colours are defined into <Xroot>/lib/X11/rgb.txt.
