Hi.
I hope someone knows the answer to this one. How can you use the styles included into x11-themes/commonbox-styles from openbox?
They don't seem to be listed by obconf, nor the lxappearance openbox plugin. Do you have to put something into your rc file so that openbox will look into /usr/share/commonbox for these themes? I can't seem to find anything about this.
Thanks. |

there is a commonbox-styles-extra package, not sure what it does but it does list fluxbox/openbox in RDEPEND
and there is /usr/portage/x11-wm/fluxbox/files/styles-menu-commonbox that could probably be adapted to openbox (or at least is a hint)
I'm just not sure where to put it in the openbox rc files _________________ PRIME x570-pro, 3700x, 6.1 zen kernel

Openbox themes usually go in the form of ~/.themes/<theme name>/openbox-3/*
Maybe this is a leftover from openbox-2 or even more ancient versions. If someone could confirm this, then I'd submit patches for these ebuilds so that they will stop giving incorrent / outdated info. |

Doesn't seem to be an easy way to do it.
openbox is expecting a themerc file in a subdirectory
ie ~/.themes/new_theme/openbox-3/themerc
where the commonbox styles under /usr/share/commbox/styles should be usable but they need to copied and placed properly
and even then there may be some things that don't work right.
I notice in a quick look that they use the xv command to set the root window background,
don't know if things like that work under openbox
Edit to add:
I tried copying a styles file and it just caused obconf to segfault, so to make it work they would need some type of editing. _________________ PRIME x570-pro, 3700x, 6.1 zen kernel
