on my SuSE system I currently have my HSF modem dialing into my local service provider and any traffic requesting an external IP on my Realtek 8139 Ethernet adapter is forwarded through ppp0 -> HOW? YaST makes all this WAY too easy. I understand that it's masquerading and I've read the docs but for the moment they are way too complex.

How do I configure ppp on this modem (what do I emerge, where do I set NS information, how do I dial the connection, ifup ifdown scripts)

How do I set up forwarding from eth0(internal) to ppp0(external)

This is the only thing that keeps me from installing GENTOO right this moment! PLEASE HELP!

Cole
